Built by a developer, for developers.

HarborDB was born out of frustration with sluggish, bloated database tools. I wanted something native, fast, and crafted specifically for macOS. So I built it.

The Journey

The Journey

2024The Idea. Frustrated with a slow Electron app on a client project, Alex starts prototyping a native Swift PostgreSQL client.
2025Nights & Weekends. Building the core connection engine, the high-performance SQL parser, and the result grid.
2026Launch. HarborDB v1.0 hits the Mac App Store, bringing a true native experience to developers.

Why Native Matters

Software should respect your hardware and your time.

Native First

If it's on a Mac, it should feel like a Mac app. Swift, Metal, and AppKit are the core technologies.

Performance

No spinners. No waiting. Just instant results. Built to handle millions of rows without breaking a sweat.

Privacy

Your data is yours. No cloud accounts, no tracking, no "syncing" services you didn't ask for.

Simplicity

Powerful features without the clutter. A UI designed to stay out of your way.

Meet the Maker

HarborDB is designed, developed, and maintained by one person.

Alex Chen

Founder & Lead Developer

Hi, I'm Alex. I've spent the last decade working as a backend engineer and database administrator. I love data, but I hated the tools I had to use to interact with it. Electron apps that ate up my RAM, clunky Java interfaces that felt alien on my Mac... I knew there had to be a better way. I built HarborDB to be the tool I always wished I had. When you email support, you're talking to me.

Support Independent Software

By purchasing HarborDB, you're not just getting a great tool; you're supporting independent macOS development. Thank you.
